Finishing Up the Series for the 1892 Gown

Hello, Internet~Land. I hope you are well tonight as we take a look at the last step of our project. In this video we’ll put together the lace overlay top as well as a pearl necklace and a satin drawstring bag to match the gown. Let me know if you enjoy this type of project ~ one with several installments, and maybe we’ll see what else we can create in kind. Enjoy!

The Third Enstallment of our 1800s Gown Project

Greetings, dear Internet~Land! Thank you so much for stopping by today to join this next step in our journey. I am really enjoying how this outfit is coming along. In this video we will sew the actual gown. When I checked over the instructions, I found this would also include the lace skirt overlay. I had previously thought that would be a separate piece, so lets take a look at how it fits together.

Continuing Our Old Fashion Journey

Hello, dear Internet~Land! Here is the second step in our project to put together a BJD fashion outfit from 1892. In this video we’ll work on sewing the petticoat skirt using two different methods. That way you can see which type of pattern pieces you would prefer using. Enjoy!

An Old Style as a New Fashion

Greetings, dear Internet~Land! I hope you are all well and safe as we continue our journey in the beginnings of 2024. In this video I will be trying something a bit new for me. Instead of designing a new pattern, I am going to sew someone else’s. The design of this gown is a lovely look from the 1800s. When it arrived, I anxiously looked over all the instructions and pieces. I think I can do this! The finished outfit will consist of five garments: a combination underwear item, a petticoat skirt, a gown, an over-skirt, and an over-bodice. For good measure, I’ll also be adding a hat to the outfit that I purchased from a wonderful creator at my Wagon Wheel Doller Doll Show. (Our next show is the 23rd of this month.) I’ve also added the images and PDF file for the “Doll Measurements Chart” below the video link. If this project sounds like something you would enjoy, grab a snack and a beverage and let’s get started!
