BTS Outfits Make an Entrance!

Hello, hello, dear Internet~Land! I am just soooooo in love with the outfits designed by Songzio for the BTS Comeback Concert! I instantly knew my seven 1/3 scale fellas would need to wear those outfits, so the project series has begun. The first installment will be the look worn by V (Taehyung). The set includes pattern pieces for five separate garments. I especially love the wrap/skirt and the tiered-pleat vest. Come along if you’d like to see how I drafted this pattern set. Now that the pattern is done, we’ll also make a video for sewing some of the pieces. Enjoy!

Just Some Time To Sew

Greetings, dear Internet~Land. I needed to work on sewing a few items, so thought you might like to come along. This pattern has been used before with faux leather materials, but this time I will use a mix of printed denims. If you’re new to sewing clothing on a doll scale, this video will review a few tips and tricks to use when putting these smaller patterns together (smaller than people, that is). I will link the pattern below in 1/6, 1/4, and 1/3 scale sizes. Enjoy!

Sewing the Ball Gown for Smart Doll Pear

Hello, hello, dear Internet~Land! I know it’s been quite a while since my last post. My “regular” job has had lots and lots of overtime, so my little, old lady hands have needed the remainder of my weekends to rest and recuperate. With a couple of my normal weekends back, I’ve been able to get back to working on my project list. This first one is actually a very late Christmas gift for my daughter: a pink ball gown for her Smart Doll with a Pear style body.

The challenge for this dress is the fabric I wanted to use. I found a lovely, lace fabric with an embroidered, scalloped hemline. The only problem is that the pieces of my pattern are cut on a curve. Normal cutting of the pattern pieces would eliminate this beautiful edge. Soooo ~ come along with me in this video to take a look at a trick to make it work! The FREE pattern is linked below in case you’d like to watch and sew. Enjoy!
