New Basic Pattern Set

Welcome, welcome, Internet~Land! I am finally feeling a little better. Thank you to all who sent me the kindest & warmest “Get Well” wishes. I appreciate it so much! I had a FULL SEVEN DAYS with 101 degree temperature. My throat & head reeeally hurt, so once in a while I would take some IBUProfen (though I’m not supposed to use it very often) to help with the pain. It would knock the fever down for a while, but as soon as the medicine wore off, the fever would jump right back up again. It’s nice to be over that hazy~dazy~fever~head~space and be able to see & think clearly again. It was so sad to miss work & be at home for a full week, and yet be too sick to do anything enjoyable like sew, design, or do face-ups. I … was … just … sick. But now, I’m more functional, so on to doll stuff!

I am finding that I really do like the newer MiroDoll 66cm male BJD body. I currently have my Granado Pancho head on this body. I just like the hight with the slim proportions. I thought it was time to make a new Basic Pattern Set for him. I got it all ready today, because I want to design some clothing that will fit him, specifically. Right now, he’s wearing some clothing that’s actually designed for the Resinsoul 70cm guys, and it’s easy to see that the items are too big. I have two types of pants I want to make as well as a Letterman style coat but I needed to make a basic pattern set first. Now I have a place to start my designs and know they will fit him correctly. I even included two pieces that are drafted from his feet so we can make shoes!

So ~ for those of you who have this doll, enjoy! I’m not sure how similar this body size is to other brands, but if you have one/some of the other tall, slim fellas, I will post the dimensions below so you can compare and know if this pattern set will work for your doll/s as well. (The pink text is a link to the PDF file.)

A Moment To Celebrate!

Welcome, welcome, friends in Internet~Land! I’m so excited about this week’s post. We get to celebrate reaching 500 Subscribers on YouTube! As a “Thank You,” I have prepared a new pattern set just for this occasion. The set consists of a new coat design that is available in four different sizes. Hopefully, you will be able to use one (or a couple) to create your own unique look. (A photo of the pattern pages is posted below the video link.) Again ~ many thanks to all of you who visit here and on YouTube. You make our community what it is!

On a side note ~ I was going to share a link by another person on YouTube as additional information for you about wiring BJDs, but it looks like the creator has removed much of her BJD content from her channel. Hopefully, my video will still give enough info to be helpful.

The Dress To Go with the Jacket

Good evening, Internet~Land. I just wanted to post the sewing video for the dress & leggings that go with the little Bolero jacket we sewed last time. I had the filming done, so just needed to edit them together today. I’m pretty sick, so it’s just a quick post tonight for the tutorial. The pattern is free and can be found in the previous post or on the Ready To Print page. Enjoy & take care of yourselves!

I’m Loving this Little Jacket!

Howdy, howdy! I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I was able to finish and post the video tutorial for sewing the little BJD MSD / Ellowyne Bolero jacket. I love how it went together. It’s so great when a finished project looks the same in real life as it did in your head! Here’s a link to the video ~ have fun!

Giving Attention to Ellowyne & MSD BJDs

Hello, Internet~Land! I recently got some really cool, shiny blue, linen textured vinyl (faux leather) fabric. IMMEDIATELY, I had an image in my head of what I wanted to sew using it. A Bolero jacket with lace covered openings in the sleeves and back just popped into my head. Now most of my dolls are of the larger persuasion, so it usually happens that is the size for which I design. This time, however, I decided to switch to the smaller MSD size (which also includes the Tonner Ellowyne, Annora, and sometimes Tyler sizes as well). This pattern set is easily adaptable to the various body types, simply by enlarging or reducing the amount of dart that is taken in on the dress bodice. I have not yet sewn this set (so there isn’t a video yet), but wanted to post the pattern as soon as it was done. I hope you and your dollies will find it an enjoyable design! Until next time ~ Happy Sewing!

Checking in with a New Pattern!

Hello, hello, all my friends in Internet~Land! It’s late, and I’m just about to head off to sleepy time, but I was able to finish the new pattern tonight & wanted to get it posted. The set is for an SD sized BJD Female and features a pair of pleated pants and a vest to go with the Suit Set I posted earlier. I also got the video posted for sewing together the skirt from the set (linked below). Enjoy, and I’ll be back later when I’m AWAKE!

A Blouse for the Suit!

Hello, Internet~Land! Well, it’s been another busy week. That’s good, I think. It keeps me out of trouble … except for the online shopping I did … . But, I still think that’s good, too. I purchased a Granado Pancho head and a 66cm Mirodoll body to go with him. Now I’m just in the midst of the “waiting game.” In the meantime, I drafted a sleeveless blouse for my SDs to wear under the suit coat of last week’s pattern post. I thought that if my gals happened to be in an office when the AC went out, they might need a top in order to shed that warm jacket. So, here it is. It will have a straight little band collar and feature some sweet little gathers in the center at the neckline. I will probably attach a gem of some kind right at the top where the gathers touch the collar.

I’m not sure if I’ll have time to make a sewing video this week, as I’m still in the middle of getting wigs ready for the show next week. Will post a link to the show info along with the new pattern. Enjoy!

Adding a Couple Revisions

Good evening, Internet~Land. While pondering on my last skirt pattern, I decided to add some revisions to make it easier to insert the little triangle flare pieces. Now they can just be sewn to the front & back pieces, then sew the side-front pieces to the front and the side-back pieces to the backs before sewing the side seams. The original facing pieces & little triangles should still work for this revised version. … ok ~ now my brain will stop thinking & let me get some sleep. Chow!

A New BJD SD Female Suit

Good evening, friends in Internet~Land. I hope all is well with you this fine September night, and that you are happy today. I’m sitting here with my sweet Tom-Cat, Salem, and am hoping you have had a day as restful and contented as mine. It’s been slow and relaxing, which was very much needed. I just love it when we get our whole weekend. I still have a Saturday tomorrow! Today, I was able to get a new pattern finished up for you, as well as a video showing my drafting process. Hopefully it will inspire you not only to print & sew the new featured pattern, but to try creating some new patterns of your own as well!

In other news (before I insert the pattern & video links) ~ I will be hosting a Vendor Table at the Cross Roads Doll Show on September 28, 2019 in Portland, Oregon. Click the link below for more information, and perhaps I will see you there!
