This gown is from an earlier post, inspired by our trip to California. The fun part is that the doll is the same at both locations, but each site has a different gown. They are designed for legal size paper, so just “copy & paste” or “save as” to get your copy, then pop over to the other site for the additional gown, and print them out! Today’s post will feature my newly completed “Coffin Case” Doll Trunk for 17″ to 19″ dolls. Of course, it was predominately designed for the Wilde Imagination ~ Evangeline & Friends dolls, as they are truly some of the coolest “Goth” beauties! The first one I did was in dark & light green marble coverings, but I was finally able to find a grey/black marble. I’ve mixed in some red floral for a bit of color. The case will hold two dolls comfortably, and has plenty of storage space for gowns, separates, and accessories. It only lacks the closet rods to be completed, but I wanted to enter a post before the end of the week. This particular case is in prep for the up coming August 20, 2016 Crossroads Doll & Teddy Bear Show in Clackamas, OR. It will then be for sale. 🙂

Nothing like a holiday to get me motivated and moving! These past two weeks have seen good productivity. I am almost finished with two more custom order Barbie size doll trunks, and I have also finished a gown testing out my newest pattern. Whenever I make a new design, I try to make even the “first attempt” marketable. I am very pleased with this One of a Kind ~ “Little Hollywood Glamour,” modeled on my Full Moon Parnilla in a Gothic Mist wig. Wishing you a great Independence Day Weekend!

While searching online, I was able to find the PERFECT fabric to make my new table skirting for the Doll Shows! I found an Etsy store called CarolinaCottonCo. They have beautiful fabrics, good prices, and ULTRA-FAST shipping! I received my order in just two days from date of payment! This lovely Hydrangea fabric is exactly what I wanted to match my blog, facebook page, business cards, and price tags! So exciting! Will post pictures when I get the skirting all done. 😀

Well, another custom order is ready to make its way to a new home. Here is the completed baseball uniform for San Francisco Giants’ player, Hunter Pence. This is modeled on a Tonner 17 inch “Freedom for Fashion” male doll with a Matt body style.

What a fun trip! While driving the California freeways, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. On the whole, though driving MUCH faster than normal for me, people were very courteous. I found there was always room allowed for me to make possible quick changes due to new navigational info from my daughter (even in Hollywood!). We were able to arrive at all our destinations safely & without incident. Somehow we always seemed to end up exactly where we needed to be, despite making wrong turns! I think the Lord may have had some “bumper angels” in place for us! 🙂

It was fun to see all the palm trees. My daughter absolutely LOVES them! That provided inspiration for a new “look” to add to my “Forest Walk” fairy collection. It will most likely be sewn for the Tonner Evangeline size doll. I’m not yet sure if this look will have wings. This may even be the first dress I put together from the collection. I will enjoy looking for just the right fabrics to make it come to life. As this was inspired by our vacation, it will not be in the paper doll book, but will be a special limited edition item. With that, I happily introduce “Sweet Summer Sunset.”

Yes! This weekend we are heading out for a road trip! It will be a fun time for the “fam,” and I will be watching for new inspirations. When we get back, I will start sewing a new project ~ a San Fransico Giant’s baseball uniform for the Tonner Matt body style. Stay tuned for finished pics and have a great week!

I always enjoy getting project requests from collectors. Since I teach full time, sometimes those projects take a while to complete. A while back I was asked if I could come up with a pirate outfit to look like Captain Hook from the TV show, “Once Upon a Time.” Well, I’m pleased to have this one complete. While looking online, I saw that this particular villainous hero sports a couple different looks. So, of course, I had to try both! The first is a “leather” tunic style vest over a black pirate shirt with “leather” pants. The second switches out the tunic for a dress vest and a long black coat with velvet cuffs. All three pieces show off lots of buttons, so I had my work cut out for me! Maybe sometime in the next couple weeks I will try my hand at boots, but for now, black stockings & buckled black shoes will have to do. And last, but not least for this fella, is his hook! All are modeled on my handsome David Tennant sculpt Tonner “Doctor Who” doll. Enjoy!

This was written for a contest, but in mis-reading the requirements, I made it way too long. It had to be revised and shortened ~ REALLY shortened! Here it is in its “unabridged version.” Enjoy! ~ missy

So, I said I would post updates on the progress of my “new-to-me” little Iplehouse Asa. (See the entry, “A New Addition,” to look at her “before” pictures.) I decided to jump in and paint. I also picked up a new type of clear matte spray, but I’ll get to that a little later. First, the painting. After applying a coat of clear matte spray, I brushed on a coat of tan to minimize the blooming on her face. It ended up being a bit too dark, but not totally horrible. Next, I added some darker brown in her nostrils & ears. Then, I used pastel chalks to shade and blush her face. I also used a blue chalk to shadow her eyes. The lips were painted. My problems come with an uneven hand in the detailing. I always end up with too much eye liner and mushy lashes. Still, I did her eyebrows and applied real lashes. I wasn’t 100% overjoyed, but I was content… UNTIL… …

I used the new clear spray to seal the paint. It was SHINY!!!! Aaaaahhhh! Yes, shiny. So now, I will probably clean her face and start all over. The spray was Design Master Clear Finish Matte. Well, not matte enough for me. I had better luck on other dolls with a less expensive Krylon Clear Finish Matte. Will probably go back to that one. I know the highest recommendations come with Mr Super Clear Matte, but I would need to order that one. Nevertheless, I will post her picture with hair just so you can see her. Yes, I know these eyes are too big and look a bit alien, but I have smaller ones on the way. Well, that’s where she is thus far. Will post again when she has another update to share.
